Questions
- Where do the dates come from?
- From the same rules that run Subscription Law, built from the Act, the draft detailed rules and the draft guidance, each with its source. The calculator runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us.
- Why does a monthly plan only get a reminder every six months?
- The law asks for a reminder before a payment at least once every six months for plans billed monthly or more often. Plans billed every six months or less often need one before every payment. The end of a trial and a 12 month renewal each get their own extra reminder.
- What is the "reminder timing"?
- How many days before the last day to cancel you promise to send reminders. You say it on your sign-up page and it becomes a promise you have to keep, so the calculator works from it.
- Does it handle customers who joined before 2027?
- Yes. Someone who joined before 1 January 2027 is shown as not covered by the new law. The older 2013 rules apply to them instead.
Every rule the calculator applies is listed with its source in the law explained.
