How it works
Your billing system keeps taking the payments. We do everything the new law adds.
We do not replace Stripe and never touches a payment. It reads what Stripe already knows about each subscriber, works out which emails the law says they must get and when, sends them, runs the cancel page, and keeps a record of all of it.
1
Connect your billing
Stripe, GoCardless, Chargebee, Recurly, Recharge, WooCommerce or Memberstack, read-only. A few minutes. We read your plans, prices, customers and subscriptions, then listen for anything that changes: a new sign-up, a payment, a cancellation.
2
Answer three questions about each plan
What kind of thing you sell (gym access, a box of food, an app), whether the law covers it, and how many days before a payment you promise to remind people. Nothing is sent until you have answered for every plan.
3
We take it from there
Every night and every time something changes, we work out what each subscriber is owed. Every 15 minutes it sends what is due, records that it arrived, tries again if it did not, and warns you before anything is late.

What your sign-up page must say
The law says the key facts have to be on the page where people join, in plain sight, not in the terms and not behind a link.
- We write the block for each plan: that it renews, how often, how much, the least they will pay in total, how to cancel, and when you will remind them.
- You get it as a snippet for your website, as plain text, and as a line to drop into Stripe Checkout.
- Each plan also gets a full information page on your own web address to link to from checkout.
- The reminder timing you promise here is the timing we send to. The promise and the practice cannot drift apart.
Example for a £29.99 a month gym plan
Your membership costs £29.99 a month including VAT and renews automatically each month until you cancel. There is no minimum term, so the least you commit to is the first month.
You can cancel online in one step from your account at any time before your next payment date to avoid that payment. You have 14 days to cancel for a full refund after joining and after your free trial ends.
We will email you a reminder 14 days before each payment, with the amount, the date and how to cancel.

Payment reminders
Six kinds of email, each with the wording the law requires and your branding around it.
| The email | When it goes | What it has to say |
|---|---|---|
| Reminder before a payment | Before a payment, at least once every six months, for plans billed monthly or more often | How much, when, the last day to cancel to avoid it, how to cancel, and the right to cancel |
| Reminder before every renewal | Before every payment for plans billed every six months, yearly or less often | The same |
| Your trial or offer is ending | Before a free trial or introductory price turns into the full price | The same, plus the full price that follows |
| Your 12 month plan is renewing | Before a plan renews for another 12 months or more | The same, plus the length of the new term |
| You have 14 days to change your mind | When someone joins, when a trial becomes a paid plan, and when a plan renews for 12 months or more | That they can cancel, until when, and how |
| Your cancellation is confirmed | Within 24 hours of an online cancellation, or by the end of the third working day otherwise | That the subscription has ended and when |
- Subject lines say what the email is for: "Reminder: your Gym Monthly renews on 29 July for £29.99".
- Marketing cannot be put inside one of these emails. We refuse the template.
- Each email is sent exactly once. Bounces and complaints are picked up and shown to you.
- If an email cannot be sent, you see it in your dashboard and get an email yourself, before the deadline passes.

One click cancel
If a customer joined online, the law says they must be able to leave online, in one clear step, without phoning or emailing you.
- A cancel page on your own web address, reached from a link in your account page or in any email we send, or by typing an email address and a code.
- The customer confirms who they are, sees what ends and when, can skip one optional "before you go" offer in a single click, and confirms. No survey until it is done.
- The cancellation lands in Stripe straight away or at the end of the paid period, whichever the law says, linked add-ons end too, and the confirmation email is scheduled for the right deadline.
- Cancellations your team makes directly in Stripe still get their confirmation email.
Why only one "before you go" offer
The guidance says the way out must be as easy as the way in. Subscription Law allows one offer at most and makes that limit part of the rules, so no setting or template can add a second step.

Change of mind refunds
Customers get 14 days to change their mind when they join, again when a trial or offer price ends, and again when a plan renews for 12 months or more.
- We work out each 14 day period and send the email that tells the customer about it at the start.
- If someone cancels inside their 14 days, we work out what they are owed, allowing for what they have already had: boxes delivered, days of access used, content downloaded.
- You see the sum and how it was reached, approve it or round up to a full refund, and we send the refund through Stripe and track the 14 day deadline, with a nudge on day 10.
- If a change of mind email was missed or late, we spot it, extend the period as the law requires, and flag the risk to you.

Proof
If the regulator or a customer ever asks, the answer is a record showing every email went on time. We keep that record as a matter of course.
- Every email sent, every delivery, open, click, cancellation and refund is written to a log with a timestamp. Entries cannot be edited or deleted, and the log can prove it.
- Each email is stored exactly as sent: subject, content, a PDF copy, and confirmation from the email provider that it was delivered.
- Export the record for one subscriber or for any period as a PDF pack or a spreadsheet.
- A score for your whole business and a weekly email tell you where you stand.
