Terms of service

Last updated 5 November 2026

These terms govern your use of the Subscription Law website, the free tools and the paid service. By using any of them you agree to these terms.

1. Who we are

Subscription Law is a trading name of AI Programs Holdings Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17516543). Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. ICO registration number ZC280525. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Subscription Law" mean that company trading as Subscription Law. You can contact us at hello@subscriptionlaw.co.uk.

2. What the service is

Subscription Law is software that helps a business operate a process for complying with the subscription contracts regime under Part 4, Chapter 2 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the regulations made under it. It reads subscription data from your billing system, schedules and sends notices, hosts a cancellation route, calculates refunds for your approval and keeps records.

The service is not legal advice and we are not a law firm. The rules it applies are encoded from the Act, the draft regulations and the draft guidance, each shown with its source, and they are subject to the final regulations. You remain responsible for your own compliance and for deciding whether the service suits your business. We recommend that your own adviser reviews the rules as encoded.

3. Free tools

The compliance scan, the calculator and the read-only compliance report are free and need no account. The scan fetches one public web page that you give us the address of, reads its text, keeps the results and short excerpts, and discards the page. You may only scan pages you are entitled to have scanned. We may limit the number of scans from one source.

4. Paid plans

  • Plans are Starter, Growth and Scale, billed monthly or annually. Prices are shown exclusive of VAT, which is added at the current rate of 20% and shown as a separate line on your invoice.
  • Each paid plan starts with a 14 day free trial. We take no payment during the trial. Before the first payment we send you a reminder with the amount, the date and how to cancel.
  • Monthly plans renew automatically each month until you cancel. Annual plans are a twelve month term that renews automatically each year until you cancel; we send a reminder before each annual renewal.
  • Each plan covers a number of active subscribers. Subscribers above that number are billed in arrears at the overage rate shown on the pricing page.
  • You can cancel online in one step from your account at any time. A monthly plan ends at the end of the paid month. An annual plan ends at the end of the paid year. We send an end of contract notice within 24 hours of an online cancellation.
  • You have 14 days to cancel for a refund after your trial converts to a paid plan and after each annual renewal, less the proportion of the period already used, as the rules we apply to our customers' subscribers apply to ours.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information about your products, plans and the reminder timing you state to your customers. The service schedules from what you confirm.
  • Keep your billing connection and credentials current, and tell us promptly if anything changes.
  • Do not remove, alter or bypass the statutory block of any notice template.
  • Use the service only for consumer subscriptions you are entitled to manage, and comply with the law in doing so.

6. Data

You are the controller of your customers' personal data and we process it on your behalf under our data processing agreement. Our privacy policy explains what we collect about you and about visitors to this site.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available at all times but cannot promise it. Notices are scheduled with margin and retried on failure, and we alert you before anything becomes overdue, but you remain responsible for checking the dashboard. We may change the service and these terms; material changes to paid plans take effect from your next renewal and we will tell you before then.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you took out the plan, for loss of profit or business, or for any penalty, fine or claim arising from your subscription contracts, and our total liability to you in any twelve month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. The free tools are provided as they are, without warranty.

9. Ending the agreement

You may end a paid plan at any time as described in section 4. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your payment fails after reminders, or if we withdraw the service, in which case we will refund any period you have paid for but not received and give you a reasonable time to export your records.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
